Health basics for every Iowan, with dignity.
We’re high school students in Cedar Rapids and Marion, working for the Iowans who get left out. We run two programs: one gets medical supplies to people who need them, and one shows everyone what’s in the water they drink.
Our two programs
Care Kits
We collect donated supplies and pack hygiene and first-aid kits by hand for unhoused neighbors and local shelters in Cedar Rapids and Marion, and for partners beyond Iowa.
- $8 helps make one kit
- 18 essentials in each
- 264 supplies donated in India
NiFi
Nitrate from farm runoff ends up in Iowa’s rivers, including ones our cities drink from. NiFi turns public water data into plain English for the river near you, and we’re building a low-cost sensor so communities can test their own water.
- 12 live river sensors
- 100+ Iowa river sites mapped
- Free with no account
Health starts with the basics.
For someone without a stable place to live, the basics are a toothbrush, clean gauze or a dry pair of socks, and they’re often the hardest things to get. For every Iowan, the basics include safe water. In June 2025, nitrate in the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers got so high that Central Iowa Water Works banned lawn watering for the first time, to keep tap water safe for about 600,000 people.
So we work on both. Care Kits puts real supplies in people’s hands. NiFi puts real water data in everyone’s.

Help us do more.
You don’t have to live in Iowa to help. Funding, supplies and time all turn into kits, and every share of NiFi helps someone check their water.
